Heartland Chamber Music's Adult Workshop provides an exciting opportunity for adult amateur musicians to explore great works of chamber music. This four-day workshop is open to string, wind, and keyboard players ages 21 and over, and will feature faculty from the Heartland Chamber Music Festival, including musicians from the Kansas City Symphony. The faculty musicians will coach and play alongside participants creating a unique and encouraging music-making environment. The workshop will also include social activities and will conclude with an informal performance by participant groups at the Country Club United Methodist Church in Kansas City.

Coaching sessions will be held in host homes located within the Kansas City metro area. The closing performance will be held at Country Club  United Methodist Church, Kansas City MO.  Throughout the weekend, participants can enjoy sights such as the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts, the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, and the Country Club Plaza.

Repertoire and Personnel:
Repertoire assignments will be based on level, experience, and available instrumentation. Please provide as much information as you can on the application, including repertoire requests. We will do our best to accommodate requests. Assignments will be emailed to participants 4 weeks prior to the workshop.

Heartland Chamber Music is an award-winning student chamber music Academy in the heart of Kansas City. Each summer over 100 string and piano students, ages 8-26 from all over the world gather for the Heartland Chamber Music Festival in Overland Park, Kansas at Johnson County Community College. Students receive instruction from internationally renowned music faculty and present free summer concerts in Yardley Hall. Our music school provides year-round chamber music education, and private lessons in both Suzuki and the traditional method, taking place at the Barstow School. Our young artists also have the opportunity to audition for The Camerata Chamber Orchestra for additional Outreach performance opportunities.
