Festival Family Night is Wednesday, Aug. 2 from 5:00pm - 8:00pm                                                        dinner and a concert

This will be a FUN EVENT and a chance to visit with faculty!  

 All students, friends and families join for dinner at the Marigold Food Truck from 5:00 - 6:30 which will be located between the Carlsen Center and the Nerman Museum.  All students receive a $10 voucher for dinner, and friends and family can purchase dinner at an affordable rate.  

       The Harlem Quartet concert is from 7:00 - 8:00 in Polsky Theatre.                                                                     The performance is followed by a short, student directed Q & A with the Harlem Quartet.

Ticket prices for Festival students and youth, 18 and under: $5 (students will need to purchase their own tickets at the box office 913-469-4445)

Adults, 18 and over:  $10 prior to performance date, $15 day of performance

Room and Board

Housing is available at the Hawthorne Suites, Overland Park.

A hot breakfast will be served at the hotel. Each student should bring additional money for lunch and dinner. HCM will provide adult supervision for students 16 and older. Students under 16 must be accompanied by their own chaperones. The hotel will provide a daily shuttle to JCCC.

All student reservations should be made directly to the Hawthorne Suites by calling 913-344-8100 and telling them you are with the HCM Festival.

Heartland Chamber Music is an award-winning student chamber music Academy in the heart of Kansas City. Each summer over 100 string and piano students, ages 8-26 from all over the world gather for the Heartland Chamber Music Festival in Overland Park, Kansas at Johnson County Community College. Students receive instruction from internationally renowned music faculty and present free summer concerts in Yardley Hall. Our music school provides year-round chamber music education, and private lessons in both Suzuki and the traditional method, taking place at the Barstow School. Our young artists also have the opportunity to audition for The Camerata Chamber Orchestra for additional Outreach performance opportunities.
